eCommerce
The e-commerce market is experiencing extraordinary growth and leaving little doubt that as more consumers use the Internet, e-commerce-based sales are no longer a luxury for many businesses, but an absolute necessity.Because the e-commerce environment constitutes a non-face-to-face transaction, it also creates greater potential for fraud. FDIS realizes that e-commerce merchants need reliable Internet-based payment services that will help maximize their electronic payment profit potential, while helping to ward off fraud from their non-face-to-face transactions. We offer e-commerce merchants several payment solutions to maximize electronic payment profit potential and fraud protection.
The First Data Global Gateway is the gateway of choice for FDIS however, our systems are compatible with all major gateways.
First DataSMGlobal Gateway
The First DataSMGlobal Gateway is one of the most dynamic processing gateways in the industry today, empowering e-commerce merchants to process secure transactions quickly and easily from anywhere that has Internet access. The gateway translates information on merchant's Web sites into a format that can be read by an electronic processing system to process transactions online. The gateway uses 128-bit secure sockets layer (SSL) encryption so data remains secure. In addition, it screens transactions prior to authorization to check for fraud and uses the Address Verification Service (AVS) and card verification value 2 (CVV2) to help confirm user information.
Global Gateway virtual check
The Global Gateway virtual check service allows merchants to accept checks online and have them automatically processed. The virtual check service is a value-added enhancement, allowing merchants to accept and process electronic check payments. The transactions are captured by the Global Gateway. The system debits the amount from the customer's checking account and transfers the funds to the merchant's direct deposit account. Merchants are notified of returned checks normally within two to four days, and the system automatically resubmits the check. Merchants can also request email notifications of a transaction's acceptance.
Authorize.Net™
Authorize.Net™ offers a virtual credit card terminal for offline card processing. Businesses with an Authorize.Net™ account simply access the Authorize.Net™ Virtual Terminal through the Authorize.Net™ website and simply complete and submit an encrypted electronic form without credit card machines. This form provides the Authorize.Net™ system with the information it needs to complete the transaction. When the process is complete, the merchant receives an authorization number, and the Authorize.Net™ server stores the transaction.Merchants can also check the status of transactions, automatically bill customers for recurring charges, or run a variety of reports right from the Authorize.Net™ Virtual Terminal.
