Providing customers with a credit card payment option is proving to be a valid form of business survival, and FDIS offers a reliable one-stop shop to help businesses not only survive but thrive. FDIS processes most major credit cards: MasterCard®, Visa®, PIN-secured and signature debit, American Express®, Diners Club®, Discover®Network and JCB® cards. FDIS merchants who can offer their customers a choice of payment options not only enhance their customers' shopping experience, but increase their own revenue-generating potential. In addition, FDIS agents can maximize their profits and build customer loyalty when they provide merchants the types of accounts that will bring the most revenue-generating opportunities to their businesses.Debit
The use of debit cards has grown significantly over the past decade. Consumers may favor debit cards because the money comes directly out of their checking accounts, which can enable better financial management. FDIS offers both PIN-secured and signature-based debit card processing.PIN-secured debit purchases use a secret personal identification number (PIN) to authorize purchases. The transactions are authorized in real time. The funds in the customers' accounts are captured, and money is normally transferred into the merchant's account in two to three business days.
Signature-based debit transactions are performed offline and do not require a PIN. They do, however, require the customer's signature on the receipt. Because signature-based debit cards are processed through the same system as credit cards, they incur transaction fees and discount rates. Merchants who have existing credit card accounts can easily add signature-based debit to their list of payment options and broaden the number of payment options they provide to their customers.
Quick Service Restaurants
The First Data Independent Sales quick service restaurant (QSR) program offers large and small QSR retailers a variety of communication and payment processing options. These flexible solutions provide QSR merchants with faster transaction speeds, larger ticket sizes and specialized customer service. By using Internet Protocol (IP) technology with the point-of-sale solutions, FDIS can produce card transaction times as low as three to four seconds, faster than cash! Additionally, the MasterCard® Convenience and Visa® Small Ticket programs don't require a signature for any purchase under $15. Our QSR program also offers merchants streamlined credit and debit processing with real time online access to transaction data.
